181 PROJECT PROPOSALS ENTERED QUALITY ASSESSMENT
Interreg CENTRAL EUROPE has received 191 applications when the third call for project proposals was closed on 25 January 2018. Following administrative eligibility checks, 181 applications have entered the quality assessment stage. New transnational cooperation projects are expected to be selected early 2019 and will be funded with around 60 million Euro from the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF).
"Our third call for proposals came with a thematic focus narrowing down the topics that we not yet cover with our funded projects. Nevertheless the open call attracted a huge number of applicants in all nine programme countries,” said Christiane Breznik from the Managing Authority hosted by the City of Vienna. “We are very happy to see that cooperation beyond borders takes regions and cities in central Europe forward.”
Following the assessment, the best transnational project partnerships will start to cooperate closely to make their cities and regions better places to live and work. They will jointly test and implement new solutions for shared challenges - in the fields of innovation, low-carbon economy, environment, culture, and transport.
