The EDA Conference devoted to the topic - ‘INNOVATION OF EUROPEAN CITIES, URBAN PLANNING, STRATEGIC PLANNING AND SYNTHESIS WITH FINE ART AND CULTURE EUROPEAN PROGRAMS AND PROJECTS FOR URBAN DEVELOPMENT'  was the first conference of this format in Slovakia, which took place in Košice, on May 23rd and 24th 2017. This unique format attracted many experts in the domain not only from the whole Slovakia, but even from the Czech Republic, Hungary and Poland. The audience consisted of more than 70 policy makers, academics and public servants responsible for national, regional and local development. Presentations were focused mainly on the regional development, urban planning, smart cities, and creative economy.

URBAN INNO project and the local pilot activities were presented by Technical University of Kosice at exhibition booth. Besides the aim to spread the idea of Košice pilot, presenters were focused on gathering useful feedbacks and ideas from the stakeholders in order to set the pilot activities and related tasks in more specific way.

As the conference’s audience consisted mainly of policy makers on the national, regional and local level, the major benefit for URBAN INNO project was the increase of project and pilot awareness regarding its expansion and support on every policy level. This conference contributed to the extending of local pilot stakeholders network and pave the way for the future negotiations. Besides that, URBAN INNO representatives were approached by the participants interested into local goods production, which could lead to their full involvement in pilot activities.
